Calendar of Events/Activities for St. Dominic’s & St. Francis of Assis

April 15-MHCC Parish Offices will be closed in observence of Patriots' Day.

April 16-Scripture Study will be held 12-1:30PM at St. Francis of Assisi parish hall.

April 18-MHCC Book Group Meeting 6:30-8:00PM at St. Francis of Assisi.

April 20-St. Francis of Assisi 50 Week Club Banquet-at White's - cocktail hour 5:30-6:30PM and dinner served at 6:30PM.  

April 23-Scripture Study will be held 12-1:30PM at St. Francis of Assisi parish hall.

April 22-LPI AD Campaign - all business owners who are parishioners in St. Francis or St. Dominic's who currently have a print or digital ad, thank you all for your support of the bulletin.  If you haven't yet placed and ad in our bulletin, please consider doing so, you can contact the rectory and we can pass your request along to our LPI representative.  Your participation makes our bulletin successful, and you attract new customers.

April 25-MHCC Book Group Meeting at 6:30-8:00PM at St. Francis of Assisi.

April 27 & 28-Family Mass will be held at 4:00PM Saturday at St. Francis and at 9:30AM Sunday at St. Dominic.  May Crowning of The Blessed Mother will be done at both family Masses.

April 30-Scripture Study will be held 12-1:30PM at St. Francis of Assisi  parish hall.

May 2-MHCC Book Group Meeting at 6:30-8:00PM at St. Francis of Assisi.

May 7-Scripture Study will be held 12-1:30PM at St. Francis of Assisi parish hall.

May 9-MHCC Book Group -  No Meeting this week.  The Ascension of The Lord

May 9-The Ascension of The Lord Mass Schedule-8:00AM at St. Francis of Assisi and 5:30PM at St. Dominic.

May 11-First Communion will be held at St. Dominic's at 11:00AM.

May 14-Scripture Study will be held 12-1:30PM at St. Francis of Assisi parish hall.

May 16-MHCC Book Group Meeting at 6:30-8:00PM at St. Francis of Assisi.

May 18-St. Francis of Assisi - Shred It Event will be held in the church parking lot from 9-12:00noon.

May 19-St. Dominic's Church Holy Spirit Society Lunch-12:30-2:30PM.  Choice of Chourico or Cacoula sandwich.  See April 21, 2024 bulletin for more details.

May 23-MHCC Book Group Meeting at 6:30-8:00PM at St. Francis of Assisi.

May 27-MHCC Parish Rectories will be closed in observance of Memorial Day.

May 30-MHCC Book Group Meeting at 6:30-8:00PM at St. Francis of Assisi.

June 6-MHCC Book Group Meeting last two chapters and End of Year Social at 6:30-8:00PM.

A WARM WELCOME TO OUR NEW PASTOR:

We are pleased to introduce Father Thomas Costa to the Mt. Hope Catholic Community.

Father Tom grew up in nearby Seekonk and later gradutated from University of Hartford.  After a career in business, he entered priestly formation and completed his Theological studies at Pope John the XXIII Seminary in Weston, MA.  He was ordained on July 9, 2005.  He served as Pastor of Annunciation of the Lord from 2012 to 2019 and has had assignments as Chaplain of Bishop Feehan High School as well as Our Lady of Lourdes School.  Along with experience in Family Ministry, he also brings with him experience ministering as a Hospital Chaplain at Cape Cod Hospital.  He arrives from the Taunton Catholic North collaborative, where he served as Co-Pastor of St. Jude The Apostle, St. Anthony's, and St. Mary's since 2019.

He looks forward to meeting parishioners and getting to know the life of our parishes more closely.  As he settles into his new role as Pastor, Father Costa would like you to know that he will be praying for all of us.  He asks that you in turn pray that the Holy Spirit guides his arrival so that this community  continues to grow in the faith, hope and love of Jesus Christ.

Our parish  community welcomes Fr. Tom, and we pray that the Holy Spirit will guide him and bless his time here with us.
